Right, so for those who don't know how to make this card work well, I'll point out the obvious. This works well with sacrifice outlets. Be it the Devour mechanic, doubling up on Innocent Blood or Barter in Blood, or mucking about with tokens and a Vampire Aristocrat, you'll be able to wipe out almost all opposing creatures. It destroys regardless of regeneration, shroud, or indestructability. It works wonders in multiplayer, and as an enchantment, only white and green have good answers to the destruction. It doesn't even need to be built around- though when it is, generally via a sacrifice deck- the destruction is truly greater than one would expect. And at four mana, the only downside is that is requires heavy black commitment. But that's the colour that will be getting the most use out of it anyway.

For further details, see the comments on more recent printings. Those fine ladies and gentlemen should have more specific... (see all)

(Card Rating: 4.0) Grave Pact is always a pleasure to play in a multiplayer format. If your oponent's do not have an answer for an enchantment in thier hand, any strategy they have involving even the most sturdy of creatures (i.e. Progenitus) will be fruitless. In light of the hefty 3 black mana required to cast it, Grave Pact is a rather difficult card to splash. Because having more than one in your hand equates to a dead card, Grave Pact makes my list of superb "one of's". Since you will be already running black, I recommend Demonic Tutor and Vampiric Tutor to make it seem like you are running three in your deck. If you are on a budget, Diabolic Tutor will suffice. In my favorite casual black/red goblin deck, I run 1 Grave Pact along with... 4 Mogg War Marshal, 2 Goblin Chirurgeon, 2 autoca... (see all)

For someone writing up such a grand review, you couldn't be more wrong about this point... The more Grave Pacts you have, the more tirggers per death, the more dudes they sac. You have 4 of these, they sac 4 dudes per 1 dude of yours that dies.
