and with a tapper like Benalish Trapper, it becomes preemptive Vengeance!

Great kill spell, though there are cheaper alternatives. Does just what it says on the tin, and I like that. Your beefstick just hit me for 6? Ouch. I swear vengeance!

Gideon's -2. Pretty steep for white removal at 4.

If you're going for Vengeance, why not use Reciprocate? Or you could Chastise it. If it won't be a problem (And it usually won't) you can always simply Condemn the guy. Devouring Light is always at least 1 cheaper, and sometimes more than that. Or Divine Verdict or Dispense Justice or Wing Shards or...

Long story short: It's good in limited, but there are so many better options out there in any format this is legal in.

Run with Backlash, Judgment Day, No Mercy, Breaking Point and Armageddon in a WWE Pay-Per-View themed deck. One can also splash blue for The Rock.

@Deathdark: I dunno about you, but I typically have trouble casting Black spells in my White deck.

Further, why use this card when Assassinate does the same thing, is legal in standard, and is cheaper.

I'd go straight for Royal Assassin, myself.
