Better than soothsaying. Often times you gotta pay out the nose to make soothsaying work, that or do it right before your turn. The descendant does it based on hand size...bigger hands dig deeper. Love it. Run with at least two (and often with soothsaying).

Ya, I put him in a Maelstrom Wanderer EDH deck with Intet, the Dreamer and other topdeck stuff, this guy is absolutely balls to the walls card advantage, Ive taken the bulk of my deck and stacked it with this guy. I play tons of green ramp spells and sac lands that shuffle my library so I can even use him on upkeep to decide what I want to draw this turn. Its almost a blue Demonic Tutor every turn. 5/5 Another hidden Kamigawa gem.
