I agree, even for 2Red Seething Song will do a better, more reliable job most of the time, and for 1Red it would be too powerful again.
Mana accel based on the cards in hand is apparently hard to make both useful and balanced.
The same is true if they made this a cantrip - if it let you draw a card it would provide free mana accel (and would increase the Storm spells count), yet for 3Red this would be easy to achieve. Yet for 4Red this would get tricky again...

I think they should have either reduced the cost to 2Red or made this spell: "Add RedRed to your mana pool, then add Red to your mana pool for each card in your hand." This way you would need 5 cards in hand to make better use of it than Seething Song, and it could still become useful in a deck with heavy card advantage.

Definitely for way_too_many_cards_in_hand.dec, and that deck only.

Sooo... If you have a 7 card hand, it's a boost of 2 for 4 cmc? Could be interesting in a Swans of Bryn Argoll deck, but not really necessary.

rubber's right; with a CMC of 4, how many cards do you expect to have in hand when you play this? 3 maybe?
I guess it could be okay with Wee Dragonauts? I mean it could possibly be a free +2/+0, but other than that there isn't much for you to do with it.

Is anyone else bothered by the punctuation of the flavor text? it seems like such an abrupt change in tone...
The first line is her yelling like Lion-O: "HEART OF SOKENZAN! I CALL TO YOUUUU"
but then the second line seems so less enthusiastic: "oh hey bro can i borrow some fire kthx"
Seems like something like "Heart of Sokenzan, I call to you - lend me your fire!" would have done the job better.

Selective Memory, take out all your nonland cards, then wait a turn. Treasure Hunt, this, Banefire.

Granted it's useless in anything but a U/R deck with a ton of draw but it really excels in that particular deck. Personally, I love it. It's an undiscovered gem for Niv-Mizzet, The Firemind EDH decks.

Reiterate + Inner Fire + 7 cards in hand (not counting reiterate) + 7RRR = infinite red mana. You can then use the bought back reiterate to reiterate pretty much any other spell for infinite damage or removal (infinite Chaos Warps or Brainstorms is fun) Or just pour it into a Comet Storm or Conflagrate.

I do this usually by turn 4-7 on average but turn 1 is possible with certain broken blue cards which shall not be named) Barring those, Consecrated Sphinx + Wheel of Fortune works quite nicely.

Whenever I use it to get like 10 to 50 red mana I smirk as people "ooh" and "aww" because then I just reiterate or twincast it f... (see all)
