If you use expensive counters, I think you're better off with decks that can play spells that affect the board at instant speed so you don't risk missing a chance to use mana. A simple example would be cards with flash, like Deceiver Exarch or something.

I love this card!
Too bad that the 4 and above costs for counter spells is way too much mana to not use during your turn.

I think the idea of the card is amazing - it just costs a hell of a lot I think! ;-( If you make it cheaper with Blood Funnel you can't get the milling effect any more. Too bad...^^

A very, very situational counter. Requires you to keep 4 mana open, your opponent to play a big spell, AND playing a UB deck. After you jump through all these hoops all you get is a few cards milled in addition to countering a spell.

And how would you feel countering a game ending Path to Exile on your creature with this ?

I think it's worth it, if you count those garbage 3 mana counter cards as the standard counter cost now, basically you now have a card that's 1 black, exile X cards, x is target spell's converted mana cost.

Its 4 mana hardcounter with a situational mill if your playing black also. The only thing that saves this card is that its a hardcounter... for 4 mana....

It's nice addition for milling decks if you can spend black mana... especially late game when you can mill considerable amount of cards with it... as well as counter your opponent's spell. Nice design, and it's not even so overcosted as you may think.

a dangerous one hard counter for costly cards? why not

If you use it when it's needed most, it'll cause a LOT of damage. Somewhat situational, but the idea is pretty cool.

Gatherer works better in the Companion app!
