Expensive, but fun, fun, fun until Lightning Bolt takes it away.

Needed a smaller mana cost, needed a cheaper activated ability, needed better toughness to keep it out of Lightning Bolt and Lightning Helix range. It didn't live up to its fullest potential which is a real dissapointment.

All in all it's just far too expensive manawise, both the ability and the casting cost. And the p/t is too low as well. On the other hand I still have him in some commander/edh decks because he can get rid of regenerating and especially indestructible creatures, and help my commander/general to punch through for lethal damage. 3/5

Was a pretty good card in the slow Ravnica limited, especially since you usually had to play 3 colors, and mixed with GW, this card was pretty boss.

Every time I play rav limited both players end up swarming the board with something. Saproling tokens, bat tokens, guildmages. This guy is a powerhouse in that scenario.

Since it wasn't already posted: Consume Strength on a stick. An expensive, card-heavy, stick, but still. Not fantastic, I'm okay with the cost on that ability since there are many ways to get saprolings in {G}{B}. I would have liked a bigger body though. I would pay for a 5/5 at 6CMC with that ability. As it is, 4/3 doesn't cut it.

the ability is epic, but not as epic as the price intails.

In my experience, there are no kinds of Groodions other than drooling ones.
