Each of your sentences are correct. Just not together.

This doesn't protect from Painter's Servant, the way it works is whichever one is placed second is the one that counts. So if you played a Thran Lens and then they played a painter's servant the next turn, it would re-color everything. Thus is the way of static effects.

Kryptnyt- Sometimes, but it doesn't affect the color of spells being cast, so not all uses are affected, and this does nothing to protect you from the grindstone-painter's servant combo.

It only affects permanents, not cards that aren't in play, so it doesn't help against Painter's Servant, at least not in a way that would actually matter. Only uses I could think of are to protect from All is Dust or color-hating sideboard cards like Kor Firewalker. Could also be annoying for green decks that rely on having green creatures, or preventing a Coalition Victory.

@Arglypuff, I think psyklone is trying to say:
All your sentance are belong to us. Just not together

Just want to point out that this and the servant together is different than just the servant, if they both have their abilities stacked, then every thing is mono-chosen colored, where the servant alone just adds another color.

A case of a card that didn't find its real functionality until many years later when a certain Eldrazi card came around.
