Balefire Liege and other "when you play a red spell" triggers and/or "when you play a spirit or arcane...", pretty much sums this card up. Only cost a R too.

@EvilCleavage ad Quang:

This gets returned from play to your hand at the end of the turn. It would not trigger from your graveyard or from any other zone. So if this DOES get destroyed (combat damage, etc), it will both go to and stay in the graveyard. Otherwise, if it lived through the turn, it gets bounced.

"When a creature comes into play" effects are obviously one route to take, as it has been mentioned (Pandemonium, if you're running with a theme). Red seems to be a good colour for this sort of tactic - see Viashino Sandstalker and others. Obviously, there are better ways to build around this than a Pandemonium fueled one-point-per-turn, but for some reason that just seems like a really fun casual deck.

Run with four Cinder Pyromancers for 20 damage per turn. Tap all four Pyromancers for the initial 4 damage, then play 1 Glitterfang at a type to untap them all and deal another 4 damage. After the fourth Glitterfang has been played, you deal the last 4 damage, for 20 total, then all four Glitterfangs return to your hand. Next turn you'd only be able to do 16 damage, but its a pretty brutal combination.

One of the drawbacks of this card though is that it is easy fodder for Honden of Night's Reach. You must pick up Glitterfang (unless you attack with it and it is killed), so during your opponent's upkeep, you're pretty much guaranteed to lose it (if you have no other cards to discard).

Confusion in the Ranks is probably the most obvious combo with this little dude.

Confusion in the Ranks; Primal Forcemage -- I get it now.

Though why you would use this instead of Raging Goblin without cards such as the aforementioned is beyond me.

When this came out, I took Raging Goblin out of my fast red decks. Much better, and you get a lot of play in it, as well, though you lose a blocker.

This wouldn't belong in the new premium deck because it has nothing to do with spiritcraft whatsoever. It's just burn, burn, burn, blow something up, burn, blow up the moon, burn, burn, chug back a can of powerthirst and reload for the next game.

It's more combo-tastic than Raging Goblin and is good with spiritcraft.
