Shouldn't the Oracle text say it does the 1 damage "if it is untapped" to preserve the original functionality like Howling Mine? In Alpha, Continuous Artifacts were turned off if they got tapped.

If you're running white put some Ajani's Mantra in the deck. If you're running blue Paradox Haze on the opponent. In red or black, screw it, suicide bomb them. Green is the only color I wouldn't bother with, but meh I'm sure somebody could figure it out.

A guaranteed damage every turn is a great effect, it's like a guaranteed creature every turn. Plus, you play it after your upkeep which means they take the damage first. Awesome.

4 of these and 4 lim dul's hexes can be hazardous so long as the other guy doesn't have any of those blasted sun droplets.

20-turn win-con, I still don't understand why this card was cut after Unlimited...

*YAWN* I almost fell asleep just thinking about winning with this card.

@Mudbutton: You weren't expected to win with JUST this card. Every turn, effectively one less point you need to deal with your creatures and/or spells (which you were expected to be using, anyway)--catalyst, not main champion. Single-card win conditions weren't exactly the rule at first (then again, neither were each side only taking 5-7 turns a game. Think more 14-17).

@Guest57443454: I think it might be more that they thought there would be TOO much redundancy since they were bringing in Armageddon Clock...

Reminds me of the commandments scene in History of the World.

Just what is the flavour here? Etched metal writing surfaces that indiscriminately damage each player every turn? Is there a reference here I'm missing?
