In any RG-LD deck this is almost an insult. "Sorry, that you have less lands than me, but don't worry, I don't have to use mana for my creatures."

Essentially any decent green mana ramping deck it read, "During your upkeep, put a 1/1 Saproling creature token into play" . Could be great in Mono-green EDH.

I don't like it. For three mana, there should be no question that I'm getting a creature every turn, at least if it's a 1/1. If it gave you saprolings as often as Verdant Force for having the most lands, then sure, I'd play it. As is, though, its only slightly better than Breeding Pit and not as reliable. You could end up giving opponents tokens!

This plus Life and Limb means that you probably get another forest and creature every turn.

If you end up giving your opponents tokens with this card in a deck designed around it, you're doing it wrong.

Could make for a verrry interesting green Smokestack deck. If they're sacrificing lands and you're sacrificing tokens, things could become one-sided very quickly. Keep in mind that this is the same colour with Winter's Grasp, Plow Under and Argothian Wurm.
