2 mana of two possible colors for a 2/2, alright, why not.

Add two abilities for utility, where one of them is pretty damn nice?

Makes for a solid card, I like it!

Is it bad that I can prevent you from ever getting to 3 mana? Hosing fetch lands since turn three. Use with Stifle, Cursecatcher, Judge's Familiar and Wasteland for fun times.

Got her in more decks than any other guildmage.
It's easy to play in matters of mana cost, 2/2 is a fine body for that as well, wizard is a creature type that is buffed by many other cards (azami, lady of scrolls for example), it can tap multiple creatures at instant speed and even the turn it comes into play.
The best though is the ability to counter activated abilities. Be it the card-draw effect of cycling, someone trying to pop a pernicious deed, trying to sac an aura of silence, mindslavering you or whatever. This guy can stop it all. :)

Wow, I just realized that i have been playing this card incorrectly. I thought that the "mana abilities can't be countered" prevented me from stopping an ability that only cost mana. Now I realize that this only stops effects that GIVE mana, so you couldn't use it to counter the "T: Add X mana to your mana pool" that most lands have inherently. Excuse me, i have to go counter some Ezuri, Renegade Leader shenanigans.
