If one of your attackers refuses to band with Camel, they deserve their just Deserts.
I look forward to the day when Wizards prints a card that lets you change the name of target permanent to a name of your choosing.
Somewhere in the universe, a guy named Walid enchanted this with Followed Footsteps.

I don't know why this has a power of 0. Camels can be nasty buggers if you *** them off.

This was a favorite card of mine back in the day. I played them with Abu Ja'far, Moorish Calvary and a bunch of other Arabian Nights cards.
One game in particular I remember; I attacked with a band of Camels and Abu Ja'far and the kid looked at me like I was absolutely insane.
"I'm not blocking that", he said, still looking at me as if I'd gone nuts.
Then I played Army of Allah.
They laughed at my Camels. . . Once.

Ruling: "It does prevent damage from animated Deserts in combat."
It makes me concerned that it was asked/happened often enough for them to add it to the official rulings... but it leads to some pretty badass mental imagery.

This card is so flavorful!
And it's the second best camel card in magic!!!!
Hint: Do a search for camels on gatherer.

I wish and hope every night that they will make a Snow land equivalent of this and call it "Taun-taun."

I will say one thing: this is the best card named Camel in Magic.

Banding ftw, and people actually play Desert again after god knows how many years of not, but I still would be surprised for this to actually turn up in a modern deck. Agree with ShoeZ though, I'd love to see it! XD

Sadly, if it attacks by itself a Desert will kill it.
That said, this is part of a combo that the state of California recently banned:
Smoke Camels.
