I think same arguments could be made about this card and Consume the Meek, just like Day of Judgment and Wrath of God. I think the key difference is the regeneration part, which could be utilized in a few ways.

Also searchable with Glittering Wish. Just sayin'.

Not strictly worse than Consume the Meek, but this is certainly less preferable. I'm sure Culling Sun was great when it was released, but nowadays, Consume the Meek is usually a better choice.

Am I the only one who loves the flavor text? I always liked the Orzhov.
I also completely agree that this is a consume alternative, not upgrade.

The flavor here is fantastic. If I was running Orzhov, I would take it simply for flavor reasons.

Yeah, I thought of this when I saw Consume the Meek too. Of course I have this in foil, and it looks absolutely awe inspiring.

Besides allowing to you to regen your own creatures, which can easily be a big bonus in black, This can also be better than Consume the Week in decks that have other W/B cards such as Nightsky Mimc or Voracious Hatchling

Now obsolete due to Consume the Meek.
