Seriously, Shatter for R in the next core set. It's long overdue.

@TDL You realize that with that situation, they would still end up with an Isochron Scepter left, don't you. If you target each one with 2 copies of Shattering Spree, they can counterspell both of the copies targeting one of the scepters, making it so that only one was destroyed. You'd need at least 6 mana to destroy both of them.
Edit: Yeah. Rate my comment down because it ruins your guys fun. Mature.

I think they got the costs for this and Pyromatics switched.

@ sofa king
Flusterstorm won't help that much, replicate copies don't add to the storm count. If your opponent loads a bunch of mana into this spell and he has not cast anything else yet than Flusterstorm will only counter 1 copy. What you are looking for to beat this card is something like Mindbreak trap or Counterflux.
This card has a new Izzet cousin too. Check out Vandalblast from RTR. Both spells have their merits.

This is 5*. It's the best at it's job of killing any number of artifacts at a cost. Even when you get mana-screwed at 2-3 mana, this is card advantage if sided in against a deck that truly needs this.
All it misses is instant speed; which depends on your metal. If not this, I use nature's claim for winter orb problems.

Vintage underdog; often sees play as a one- or two-of in the sideboard. Often better than Shatterstorm in the format.

I don't think Shatterstorm is better at all. First of all, having to construct a deck with no artifacts is already a huge drawback, and even if you don't play artifacts, Shatterstorm only becomes worth it if you want to destroy more than 4, which will only ever happen against a Mirrodin block or Esper deck. I would say this was the obvious choice against artifact-heavy Vintage or Legacy decks.
