I think it looks a bit like an Ogre from Dragon Ball Z that's supposed to take care of the inhabitants of hell.

Also i wonder why they chose a card grifter to be such a Demon-like creature instead of a human.
And afterall he pretty much looks like that type of bankier, but that's likely just the twist.

Also he seems to be using foil cards for the trick, since those seen on the artwork are very curved :D

I just noticed that it doesn't say you put the cards back face up... so does that mean they become 2/2 creatures?

Probably not. Would be fun to play with though, like using Zoetic Cavern...

@Lambi
Probably an Efreet; he's got the pointed ears and the clawed hands, and they tend to deal in games of chance and such.

Also, if your playgroup allows it, he'd be a fun EDH general. Even if they guess the right card, he just goes back to your command zone. And when they get it wrong, you get to destroy any permanent. Has some great diplomatic possibilities.. "Guess the wrong card intentionally and I'll destroy his Spawnsire before he gets that 20th mana."

I don't understand why this is rated so lowly. It's not laugh out loud funny or anything, but it's quite an interesting (and powerful) card that mixes up the game a bit. Irreverent and fun, exactly what Un-cards are supposed to be.

CLAYMORE J. FLAPDOODLE! The best artist Magic has ever known!

Also totally the inspiration for Capricious Efreet.

Since you have to keep the cards on the table, you can't actually do the 'three card monte' shown in the illustration. In that scam, if the dealer picks up two of the three cards, he can imperceptibly throw either the top or the bottom one onto the table, and make it appear as if the bottom one has been thrown in order to deceive the person who is betting on the game.

Oh right, the card. Most of the time (barring shenanigans, like above) your opponent will be able to follow which one is where. You can sometimes get lucky, and you can activate it in response to removal, but most of the time it will just be a 3/5. The fun that you get out of his ability is gravy.
