This card used to be regarded as being on the tier right below Power 9. Back in the day, Magic was slower and this card could be dominating in the right deck. It's still a very good card, but I think in today's format it would be just that. I do not think it will ever be reprinted, but if they did, it would not break Standard. The lack of mana requires this card to either be late-game or delays the progress of building a mana base, both of which may simply not be options in today's tournament format where players are always trying to gain an edge and victory in as few turns as possible.

This land saw quite a bit of play in the old days, but often caused mulligan problems...Imagine if this was in Standard between 6th and M10...

This is so good in a deck that has a bunch of creature controlling. Goes great in my Rubinia Soulsinger deck.
So my opponent kills my Rubinia or returns it or something. Tap the land and sac his creature. The life doesn't even matter, the entire idea of saccing his guy on the spot really throws a wrench into someone's game.

My opponent played this card, and I felt obligated to take out a sheet of paper and write: "This ability may be used after blocking has been declared." Has this happened to anyone else, or is it just me?

Oh arabian nights, you have so much flavor I would like nothing better than to make an entire arabian nights theme deck... Sadly they are too expensive, but I guess thats part of what woud make an arabian nights deck cool in the first place
