One mana less than the Vesuvan Doppelganger, yet it's probably not worth it....

Well, Clone is about as iconic as you get, anyway.

I love the artwork for this card, inspired Morphling's artwork as well as the card in general.

Another card resurrected by newer rules technology, in went out of print only because the rules had a hard time supporting copying effects...

Rules really cleaned this one up, still, this is as iconic as creature come. Clone also doesn't target, so feel free to kill that Progenitus or ignore that hexproof or shroud your opponent's creatures have.

6 lines of text. 6 lines. To say "Clone comes into play as a copy of a creature in play". That's 2 lines.

Because 8 is strictly better than 4.

Bob and Chuck had a little private beach, a place close to the barracks but a place that none of the other soldiers knew about. It was a place they could be themselves, enjoying each other's company, and engaging in a bit of intimacy. Their's was a type of relationship that wasn't exactly tolerated in the Benalish Army.

I never understood why this guy looks so perplexed. Either it's on your team, in which case, you have better things to do than stand around staring at each other, or it's not on you team, in which case, stab it in the face. The chance of it being your long lost twin is relatively poor. As a side note, thank god the legend rules were fixed. Having these function as kill spells was immensely stupid. 5/5

It's interesting that the new rules for it have effectively errataed how it behaves; originally, you couldn't play it at all with nothing in play, and had to choose something to copy. Now you have the option of playing it as a 0/0 creature if you want.
