A cool common with a fun ability, a nasty P/T, and enough drawbacks in cost/must always attack to keep it balanced.

It's a great Timmy card: who cares about funky abilities? Let's smash some planeswalkers!

I think this is one of the most useful Eldrazi, irrespective of the rarity. The drawback barely qualifies as one, and you can actually realistically expect to hard cast this in many decks.

I remember putting Swiftfoot Boots to this and buffing it up by 1/1 from my Vigean Hydropon
... Simic really is an interesting place, its just hard to play right.

@Lifegainwithbite
And then get 2-for-1'd by lightning bolt?

I'd rather run this guy with a haste enabler than run eldrazi con***ion and a 1/1. The only reason eldrazi constription is good is because of things that exploit auras. A silly deck in alara-zendikar used this with sovereigns of lost alara.

This card is a monster in pauper. So much fun.

One of my friends pulled 3 of these and Kozilek at the pre-release. He cast all 3 in sequence followed by Kozilek in one of his games, and his opponent was trampled flat under all of those annihilate triggers.
Best limited format I've ever played.

I had my fun with this card, so there's no reason to keep Pauper's (commons only) probably most powerful combo to myself anymore:

Turn 1: Island, Careful Study (discard Ulamog's Crusher)
Turn 2: Swamp, Exhume

Build some Madness deck around it, and you're good to go.

Big enough to be a threat, but peculiarly he doesn't feel too overpowered given the environment of Rise of the Eldrazi limited. A pretty fun card to play with or against, actually.

Great card, especially as a common. I've been playing magic since the 4th edition (yes, the 4th edition) and for a while the cards had gone soft; each successive set only produced weaker, inferior cards. Remember demonic tutor? That will never be reprinted as legal. But thankfully while some spells have gotten weaker, the creatures have recently gotten stronger. There is a power creep, but I don't mind it. Actually I like it.

I have a limited budget, and I can't always afford $$$100 tarmogoyf. This card rounds out my peasant re-animator nicely. It also fits into my pauper re-animator. Why do all the great creatures have to be rare? I applaud this common card. Great decision. Good common card. As for the few complaints, re-animator can be situational and inconsistent. While sometimes you will have a great draw and a 2nd turn creature, other times it will be the 5th or 6th turn. This card will help pauper, and make re-animator competitive. Power to common people.

I got a copy of this guy at the prerelease, and whenever he came out, I won my game. In Rise of the Eldrazi limited, the player who gets out one of the giant Eldrazi first tends to win the game. This guy is arguably the easiest of all the Eldrazi to play (one might be able to argue for Hand of Emrakul), and it makes it really hard for your opponent to play the Eldrazi Titan in his hand when he starts loosing 2 lands a turn. Annihilator 2 is much, much better than Annihilator 1 (looking at you, Hand of Emrakul). Attacking each turn is rarely a downside, and as long as you pack spot removal and Umbra auras, it becomes a negligible problem. I'm not sure how this guy will fare in Standard, but in RotE limited, he's a monster.
