WhiteRaven is absolutely right: Unless your friends are easily fooled, they can choose to not get any lands at all.

It says, "Each player searches his or her library for up to X basic land cards..."

Don't try anything funny with this. The only way you'd come out on top is if your opponent has few Basic Lands in their deck, you have Seedborn Muse out, or if they've played Trench Gorger.

1. Great art. Props to Urbach.
2. This card may benefit you last and yes that's terrible (forty cakes? terrible.) but you can't really deny that if X >= 5 this card has already affected the entire game in a huge way.

Really fun card, a staple for any green EDH. Best used with Amulet of Vigor.

This + Ankh of Mishra + Platinum Emperion.

Search for as much land as you like, and your opponent wont be able to go over board with how much land they get also.

If you want to fix that "enters the battlefield clause" combine said cards with Amulet of Vigor and Fireball (just to be classy)

Favorite new card, myself. I'm very political about my EDH decks and this basically reads "get on everybody's good side." Love it, 5/5

Lotus Cobra would ask you to kindly not eat it trying to make this spell happen.

It's a sorcery. When you play this on your turn, the you'll have to wait to use the lands you're getting. Your opponents get an opportunity to use their lands long before you get to reap the benefit of your spell.

I have a strong dislike for Mana Flare because it generally helps the opponents as much as it does you. With Collective Voyage, you're not just helping the opponents, but you're helping them sooner than yourself (barring landfall-type effects). At least you can use any untapped lands you still have around the same turn as you drop the Flare. You don't get the same luxury here.

I can't say I care for Collective Voyage (or the Join Forces mechanic).

I find it interesting that searching isn't optional.
