im trying to find out if this works for cards not in play. permanents are artifacts, creatures, enchantments, and lands.i want to use it with Sigil of the Empty Throne.

Amazing combo potential. I use this in a Green/White Enchantment deck centered around Sigil of the Empty Throne, this, Primeval Light, Aura Shards, Serra's Sanctum, and some support cards like Doubling Season, Worship, among others. It's a bit costly...but once it gets going, there's very little that can stop it.

This does not interact with cards or spells but only with permanents. Permanents exist only on the battlefield; spells exist only on the stack. A card exists in your hand, library, or graveyard, becomes a spell when you cast it, and then becomes a permanent if the spell resolves. Only after it has resolved does Enchanted Evening affect it. Since this does not turn all spells into enchantment spells, Sigil of the Empty Throne does not combo with Enchanted Evening. Since it does not turn all cards into enchantment cards, Zur the Enchanter and Hanna, Ship's Navigator do not combo with it eit... (see all)

This does NOT affect anything not in play yet. But anyway, it is awesome!
Why is this rated so low? You pop this thing out, then use Isochron Scepter and put a Disenchant on it and you get to destroy every card the opponent has in play! And what about Auratog ?

this only effects them while in play right so as an enchantment comes into play is not effected. Or am I wrong

What is the official ruling for this card regarding permanents NOT on the battlefield? The text on this card says ALL permanents, it doesn't say, ALL permanents in play, so if I'm going by what the card says Zur The Enchanter would be able to tutor anything out of my deck that costs less than 3, and Hannah, Ship's Navigator would be able to call any permanent back into my hand from my graveyard, correct?
