Amazing synergy with Avacyn's Collar and a human generator like Thraben Doomsayer. Gives you a free 1/1 flyer and whatever morbid effects you could ask for.
Blood Artist for extra fun.

It's a one mana one-for-one that if played right is usually a two-for-one.
You kill the creature its equipped to, and the render the equipment effectively useless. If they remove the enchantment, they will have still lost two cards for your one.

Houndhucker has a point, there aren't many pieces of Equipment you could hose with this in the M14 set, but remember that each card exists in many formats simultaneously, and this is no exception.
Black is traditionally very bad at removing artifacts and enchantments, and seeing a card like this that allows Black to creatively get around that weakness... well that's just wonderful.
I'd love to see some Black or Red cards that punish a player for using enchantments. Maybe the Theros block will cover this somehow?
I'd hate to see those two colours suffer all next block just because the theme uses a permanent they're not good at dealing with.

Too bad you can't equip your things to your opponent's creatures.
Otherwise basically just destroys an equipment. Less versatile and less speedy than shatter, but then again black has almost no options for killing artifacts, so it's nice to see some flavorful ways in which black can beat the restrictions of its piece of the color pie.
