Good old Mr. Smash. In one game, my opponent used Shivan Meteor on him - twice. He'd have needed higher toughness to survive those!

ahahaha i love your hypothetical situation tiggurix. "Imagine if you had a card out and another card that combos with it. now imagine your opponent only has cards that fall to your combo. how cool is that?!" also, if your opponent is playing with wild griffin or grizzly bears, you should always win, because you are playing against a retard. especially if that's his board position by the time you had the chance to cast kamahl and a crab umbra afterwards.

This card is not very good. 6 mana for 3 damage to target creature or player and counter removal? No thank you. The only redeeming quality is haste. I'd rather use Sparkmage Apprentice

Liquimetal Coating and Voltaic Key can have him tap and bolt something (or somebody) twice. That trio could wreck some shop in EDH. Just be wary of artifact removal, and there's loads of it in recent sets.

Reminds me of Spartacus. 5/5 for flavor.

There exists a fun one turn 20 damage combo with him, Gratuitous Violence, and Dragon Scales. Dragon scales should be in graveyard before Kamahl comes in. Scales attaches to him, smack for 14, tap for 6.

The Crab Umbra was made for this guy, pretty much.
Imagine this situation: You've just begun your turn with a Kamahl, Pit Fighter on the board enchanted with a Crab Umbra, while your opponent's got Grizzly Bears and Wild Griffin on his side of the table. You skip your main phase since you've got no cards in your hand at the moment, and go on straight to the combat phase. Before you declare attackers you tap Kamahl and kill his Griffin, and then you pay (2)(U) to activate the Umbra's ability and untap Kamahl. You then proceed to tap Kamahl once again and kill his Bears, and then you activate the Umbra for the second time, untap Kamahl, and finally proceed to go on to swing for 6 with Kamahl on your opponent. So in the end you paid (4)(U)(U) to gain board advantage and seriously damage your opponent, all while Kamahl was hidden safely behind the Umbra's Totem Armor. Sounds like a good deal to me.

I'd rather Lightning Crafter for the ping effect, provided your deck has goblins or shamans.
That said, this guy packs a bigger punch, so if you have first strike effects (hello, Claws of Valakut) might want to run him.
