I would not call it unplayable, if you have land source cards and perhaps the ultimate card named Black Lotus...you might play it...

Let's be fair- Vaevictis Asmadi, if you went 'All In Timmy', can get pretty big from mana dumping, and while trample would have made him even better, simple flying is evasion enough. I think. The other Elders really do need an overhaul though.

It's a shame his type no longer reads Elder Dragon Legend. That always seemed like such a cool term for them.
