Every card in Time Spiral was a throwback to at least one previously printed card.
This card references the creature it creates, Kobolds of Kher Keep, which can handily be used as tokens for this card's effect. Notably, Kobolds of Kher Keep are noticeably different from the other two 0-cost kobolds from Legends (Crimson Kobolds & Crookshank Kobolds) as these creatures specifically have their own legendary lord, Rohgahh of Kher Keep.

Compare to Vitu-Ghazi, the City-Tree. Kobolds cost 2 mana less, and that's opposed to GW, which are the colors of creature tokens. Add Skullclamp and you've got 2 cards a turn at 2 mana each. And who says they can't tote Umezawa's Jitte? Just get a charge on it someplace else, and give them +2/+2 for damage to go on. Other utility equipments like Sword of Fire and Ice become equally tough to stop. You'll never be at a lack for creatures with this in your deck.
