Kiln Fiend and other similar cards that trigger on casting a spell don't trigger on Storm copies, only the actual storm card you cast.
This is why Storm cards don't create infinite loops when you play one:
706.10. To copy a spell or activated ability means to put a copy of it onto the stack; a copy of a spell isn’t cast and a copy of an activated ability isn’t activated. A copy of a spell or ability copies both the characteristics of the spell or ability and all decisions made for it, including modes, targets, the value of X, and additional or alternative costs.
If the copies were counted as being cast, it would look like this:
1. Play a spell
2. Play a Storm card
3. The Storm card creates a copy of itself because you played a card before it this turn.
3a. This copy gains all characteristics of the Storm card, including the Storm rules text.
4. If the copy was counted as being cast, its Storm ability would trigger on the first spell cast as we... (see all)
