If I had a dollar for every shocked look I've gotten while playing this... The reason he is so great is that he has the power to end games when you do play him, and he comes out of absolutely nowhere. With an evolving wilds out you can play this any time, with an empty hand. That is very useful when you are facing a control deck. Wait for a tap-out and suddenly BAM a big stompy 9/5 appears!

My dream is to pop a fetch during an opponent's combat step and play this
"Surprise!"

It's a good card, with an incredibly interesting ability. 5/5 for being good, interesting, and innovative.

One of my favorite cards. No one ever expects it. I love using the fetch lands and playing this guy as a suprise blocker and/or finisher.

Dear arachibuty - It doesn't say you can play him for free, just that you can play him. It means that if you have 28 mana available, and are currently searching your library, you could crap out 4 of these.

Such a fun card in Elder Dragon Highlander. Use instant speed search like wayfarer's bauble or a panorama and have a huge surprise blocker that eats their big bad critter. Sucks to topdeck it though.
