Desertbuttons, you probably won't read this, and it's way out of date now, but, yes, when a spell resolves it's removed from the stack.

When it comes down to it, this is usually just a flash split second 3/2 for 3. And what's wrong with that? Seems good to me.

Instant uncounterable creature that gives white things a flowstone boost as long as he's out. Pretty damn cool.

It seems like white creatures have a chemical reaction with sulfur. It's not always good, but it's not always bad.

WHAT IS THIS?!?! THIS CARD IS ABSOLUTELY PERFECT FOR WHAT I WAS LOOKING FOR!!!!!!!!!!!!!
omg I pretty much had an orgasm.
This is going straight into my Tajic duel commander deck to help deal with stupid blue mages with their damn counterspells. This guy is basically uncounterable, he's an aggressive 3/2 for 3 mana and can be a combat trick because of it, and he makes my white creatures more aggressive. There are no 1-toughness white creatures in my deck (except tokens I guess, which is a nonbo, but meh), and Tajic doesn't care about his toughness! So perfect. I am so happy.

This card is actually played in some legacy sideboards. I don't quite know why, though. Maybe to kill

I love Split Second, it basically says "you can't stop me!" (until they print something with 'T, Counter target spell: Add ~ to your mana pool.', which is funny, but unlikely)
I don't currently have any decks that I would feel comfortable playing this in, although, there are currently 360+ white creature cards that would die to this without assistance, so it's far from bad.
Maybe the biggest issue is: if you play this to get a boost then you may lose some guys in the process which cuts the effectiveness, but if you play it to wipe the board it's not guaranteed to do much either and whatever is left is going to hit you for more damage.
If you want a boost for your creatures, just use Celestial Crusader instead. Sure you may boost your opponents creatures too, but yours get the bonus too...

@desertbuttons: of course the spell leaves the stack upon resolution. That's how spells are played, otherwise there would be no such thing as permenants. Split second only prevents people from responding to this being played. However, you cannot stop mana abilities, nor can you stop special abilities such as unmorphing a dude. Once this resolves and ETBs, then players can play spells as they normally would.
@Podunk_the_Mighty: I appreciate all types of players in magic, though I am far from a Vorthos, myself. However, if you play MTG solely based on flavor and how the cards make sense, then perhaps you should consider a different game. The cards dont have to make Earth-logic. This is a fantasy game. I suggested keeping your appreciation of the flavor of the game, but do not let it hinder your appreciation of the game as a whole.
@SAUS3: Tajic most certainly DOES care about toughness. Considering one of the few ways to kill an indestructable dude is to lower his toughness to 0, y... (see all)
