While efficient, this card is bad for the same reason Dash Hopes and Browbeat are. It gives your opponent a choice. Even worse, your opponent can hurt your tempo by sacing a land, because you have to draw this again.

Also, despite all of the above, I honestly believe this card is very well designed.

To some degree I understand all of the comments about how this card isn't that good because it gives your opponent a choice, much like Vexing Devil and Browbeat. I think the real key to playing cards like this lies in the timing. This card will be great on turn 4 because it puts an opponent in a bad situation (especially if they happen to miss a land drop since the game began). It isn't nearly as good on say turn 5 or 6 but if you're running a fast Aggro burn deck the game will be over by then. The same goes for Browbeat, if your deck is chock full of burn spells and your opponent is at 10 life they are going to be hard pressed to take the 5 damage from Browbeat.

Kind of unfortunate when your opponent runs Dakmor Salvage

@DoragonShinzui

The flavor is that if you sacrifice a land, you are moving the village, so you aren't exactly "diverting the wumpus."

Main decked it in a draft once. It read "Opponent sacs a land, you tap 4 mana and skip your next draw step" every time I wanted to cast it. Was unplayable in my deck. Might have been different if I'd been able to ramp it out on turn 3 on the play.
