Tell me more about how you only had two cards in your hand when you cast that spell.

@Zylo-: Go look up the meaning of "strictly better", cryptic would be strictly better if it had discard a card as an option, as it is the two cannot be strictly better or worse than eachother as neither one is better than the other in every single situation.

Now THAT'S how you add insult to the injury.

Not only is this useful, but the name is just hysterical. I want to play this on someone and say in a dramatic voice, "DISMAL. FAILURE." Priceless.

I love blues's discard in Planar Chaos.

Provides an effective counter and gives card advantage. Can be especially effective later in the game. Goes well with after a Rewind. Not very stellar when your opponent has a solid draw engine or something like howling mine on the field, since there will be more junk in their hand to protect the good cards you want them to discard.

I also like the idea of blue as the discard color.
I'd like to see more blue cards like this.

@demidracolich and DoragonShinzui
You are both correct... I used the strictly better term improperly... It is not strictly better... I just find Cryptic Command to be the better card due to it's flexibility and overall usefulness in more scenarios... Dismal Failure is not as flexible and a lot more situational...

Worse than Cryptic Command.
Still a decent card, 4/5.
