Useful in the same set with Spellweaver Volute, though any sorcery with buyback does the same trick.

@DespisedIcon replace ornithopters with memnite or free kobolds or any 0 mana creature of your choice(or a kuldotha rebirth) and it is easily done.

if you run a red/green deck, this is hella strong.
use green for the mass mana, and red for the creatures. BAM.

This is as blatant as they come:
A powerful effect, IF maxed.
Costs lots of mana.
Includes two very old abilities that pair well together.
Costs an assload and a half of mana to use to full effect.
Fellow Planeswalkers:
Strictly Excellent in EDH, almost bad elsewhere. It's got a great amount of potential, no doubts there, but most of its power is only accessible under circumstances that are hard to encounter outside of EDH or other Kitchen Table formats. Definitely scores high on the fun scale when it works though :)

EDIT: a year and a half later, I thought of a better way of wording what I meant: it's basically a mana-dump storm card, much like lots of storm cards, BUT I think it's probably a lot more fair than most storm cards while still not being broke. 3-stars is a good rating for it, and I like this card. :)

Say you have Mana Echoes, and Goblin Warchief; it's T5.
-Play War Mashal for {R}
-You get {5}, use {R}{R} from your mountains, give them all +5/+0
..swing for 18
