a plane-shifted version of Severed Legion.
along with Amrou Seekers, its one of few cards with such "special-colored fear".
i like the idea, though :)

@Omenchild:
There's nothing wrong with intimidate; If anything, it's more flexible. And look on the bright side: at least now the Lace spells have the potential to be more than just coasters.

Isn't quite intimidate, if you were to give it another color, it still could only be blocked by red/artifact creatures, whereas if it had intimidate, it could be blocked by creatures of the other color.
However, still, very similar. I like the card, as with all shifted cards it gets many style points, and a 2/2 with evasion for 3 isn't anything to cry about. Only problem is the 1RR casting cost, might be a problem for limited, where it would be played. So, 3.5/5 from me.

That's what the upcoming Intimidate ability basically is: color-specific fear. It may even be replacing fear for good.

Red's been working to claim fear/intimidate for a long time. Panic and similar spells, Imposing Visage and similar, Thundermare. Green also has a claim to Intimidate, although it mostly goes for stealth and trample. I wouldn't be surprised if Green gets an intimadate creature sometime in the near future. 2011 would be a good place to give red an aura that says 'unless enchanted creature is colorless it gains intimidate'.

Keep in mind that this isn't technically intimidate. If you changed this guys color with a Lace, the effect would still be on artifact/red creatures, not whatever color the Shaman became.

I don't see Intimidate becoming a staple at all, it has too many problem's dealing with color, and frankly i felt it was better to just give black it's own type of evasion. Because white and blue get flying and green gets trample. Just stick red with haste and first strike shenanigans.

Severed legion is one of my favorite zombies (an army of crawling hands is hilarious), but this card seems so meh to me.
