@Inperialstonedragon I disagree. He/she is more flavorful with low power because he thwarts glass cannons and other low toughness first strikers. I think he should have been given the same ability as D'Avenant Archer in addition to his first strike. Then he would have been a perfectly solid and not overpowered common because these abilities synergize, but only when blocking/body guarding. He would have more utility and his casting cost would be perfect. (See the old artwork for the crossbow he uses.)
With this one extra ability he stands apart from the crowd.
