Great with Cinder Pyromancer: you return it to your hand for 
, then play it again with the mana it gives you. Whenever you do this, the Pyromancer untaps and you get to ping someone again.

I think my favorite combo with this card is actually just Door of Door of Destinies I have a mono-red edh deck that's elemental tribal. If this thing drops with the door out or Pandemonium or Warstorm Surge things get very bad for the opponents.

T4 inferno titan. Card neutral to perform, and likely becomes card advantage that may well win the game for you right there.
With Smokebraider you can have 4 mana T3 instead. T3 Flametongue?
