This is pretty cute. Very versatile and can swing for 2. This and snapcaster mage would make a good team for modern control.

This guy is a great general for mono blue control EDH. The fact that he's a creature means there are a lot of ways to bounce him back to your hand or get multiple bounces with him, including riptide laboratory, crystal shard, erratic portal, deadeye navigator, sunken hope, mimic vat words of wind, equilibrium, evacuation (drawback becomes benefit, opponents get hosed), cryptic command, kederekt leviathan, veldaken mastermind, peel from reality etc.. I had never played him before I made an EDH for him, and I didn't think he would be that useful, but once you experience what he can do, you realize why blue control players love him.

With the proper deck built around him, I cannot even begin to describe the amount of fun this card is to play.

Venser totally needs a trusted advisor by his side to tell him when a good time to teleport is.

I've always noticed that something was off about Venser... it all makes sense now, he's just suffering from Savant Syndrome.

A versatile but balanced panic button on its own, and is very powerful when combo'd with the proper support (deadeye navigator, etc).
