That's the joke.
The artwork is an in-joke too. A piece of crap to represent a piece of crap.
Seriously though, it's a 0 cost artifact. You can use it for combos.

You can keep Auriok Salvagers alive with this. Oh, and you can make proxies out of it! So broken.

Interesting difference from Welding Jar. Both costs for Welding Jar are free, but limited to artifacts. In a primarily artifact deck, Welding Jar is leagues better than this. Outside of an artifact deck, Broken Fall has the same cost-per-use and is reusable. The main usefulness of this would thus be as a free artifact for artifact decks, a context in which it is obsoleted by Welding Jar.

Say what you will, its a 0 cost artifact. Dangerous under circumstances..think of what Ornithopter did with affinity and realize that although this card is no match to Ornithopter, this card could easily have taken the same place.

When I think of some of my favorite cards in Magic, I think of Herbal Poultice. The raw power of the card helps to accentuate its incredible synergy and beauty of design. I've seen such crazy curves as:
T1: Herbal Poultice
T2: 2 Herbal Poultices
T3: Herbal Poultice
T4: 3 Herbal Poultices!
By this time, your opponent has probably conceded.
Also, the art is possibly the finest thing I've seen since my trip to France, where I saw the Mona Lisa. The art is a subtle hint of power, with soft brown tones to represent its artifact-ness. This has been compared by some to such big hits as Black Lotus or Time Walk, and is, without a doubt, one of the most powerful magic cards in existence.

I play this in my March of the Machines deck. Let me tell you, it's sweet. Artifacts for free? Sign me up! It even lets you regenerate!

It seems like a really nice card, but it would never see constructed play

refresh, sans cantrip, that your opponent can see. Pass

Great art, but those mana costs should really be reversed. I'm not sure why everyone else is so scornful of this card though, perhaps bad experiences?
