I can vouch for how ridiculous this gets. In a good merfolk deck, if you have an even slightly adequate wall built to protect you, you can build up hundreds of merfolk by turn 6. Combining this with "enter the battlefield" abilities of other merfolk, like Reejerey, can make it a game ender.
