An awesome card for casual. This is the kind of thing that is basically pure fan service. You open one in a booster and know, right there and then, that you need to build a B/W deck.

He feeds you then feeds himself. He is also invulnerable to Doom blade.

Great art, fun for casual, and there is something cool about the way mana cost looks.

Using cards like this in Commander feels like cheating.

It is pretty cool. In my deck 25 life is not a big deal. I have to admit though I would chose multiple copies of Serra Ascendant as opposed to one copy of this. It is more mana cost friendly for 5 more life points.

I can't help but look at this and think, bird. Anyway, after wanting this card for ages, I finally got my hands on one. It made me happy panda.
Can't wait to get the Black/White/Green EDH deck and add this in there.

Did you know the Seer's Parables are available to read? I suggest it. It's a short read and it makes you see the Spirit Avatars in a fully different light.

@Sendaran: No Orzhov cards? No Castigate or Mortify?

One of the more amusing functions of this card is turning instant speed lifegain into a combat trick. Plus since damage is dealt simultaneously, if it blocks something and takes 4~7 damage but puts you above 25 life, it survives!
