Since when a 1/2 for one with two abilities that closes one of the weak points of elf decks became crap? :o

All it takes is one counter for this card to be extremely good. There are good Elf Warrior cards out there as well, so it shouldn't be too hard.

Lorwyn dropped some devastating elves, the fact that this doesn't make the cut in a lot of elf decks from the block says it all.
That said this + bramblewood paragon can be a major threat. play it after bramblewood paragon comes out and you've got a 4/3 trample for 2g, play the bramblewood after this and it'll still get trample eventually from it's own counters.
Great removal magnet that can turn into a big threat if left unchecked

Yea, I remember attacking with a 8/7 Winnower Patrol - that's what happens when you don't kill this card before it gets out of hand.

I wish we still got elves like this instead of crap like Ezuri's Archers.

This is often left unchecked, and can get really really huge, and much harder to deal with, but its begging to be lightning bolted or doom bladeed as soon as its put into play.

not actually a huge fan of this, even in mono elf deck I prefer not to reveal my cards and just get my bonuses when my elves hit the field (3x huntmaster, 2x door of destinies, 4x bramble wood paragon)

Very nice with Mirri's Guile on the battlefield.
