Knowing that this exists makes Grim Return even worse than I thought it was.

It would be an excellent if worded "When target creature card is put into graveyard this turn, return that card into play under your control".

You can't combine this with evoke. If you play the evoke cost it is put into the graveyard as a replacement effect, it never stay on the battlefield when you have priority. When its comes into battlefield effect triggers it is already in the graveyard, there is no opportunity to target it nor sacrifice it as a cost.

This is really nice card. I would use Test of Faith against burn and creature heavy decks, but this one is really nice when fighting non-burn removal decks and if you're having a lot of creatures with triggered ability after entering a battlefield. Should be reprinted...

Nice answer for a Diabolic Edict or its new Standard-legal successor, Geth's Verdict, or a free sacrifice for anything. Good stuff.

How does this interact with Treacherous Pit-Dweller?

I always thought of this as an instant Angelic Renewal, but it's also a simplified white Reincarnation.
