Absolutely ridiculous with Uril, the Miststalker.

My friend played this on a blue creature the other day. Every one gave him a strange look. Then he swung with it, so my other friend let it through since he didn't want to lose his creature. My friend then elvish piper'd in a painter's servant for a 8/7 double strike flying Goliath Sphinx to the face.
Moral of the story: The unexpected can kick your ass.

I put this on Darigaaz, the Igniter.

My primary deck is based around Uril the Miststalker, and this is the best enchantment I can put on him. I run noble Noble Hierarch and Qasili Pridemage. If I attack with a lone Uril with runes of the deus on him I can drop my opponent in a single hit, especially after using Naya Charm.
The real downside of the card is that it draws a lot of aggro, forcing your opponents to disenchant or something as soon as you swing with the attached creature. This is true of all enchantments though, but this one is hard to keep inconspicuous.
I have a habit of gloating over my creatures by reading off all their effects.
"Uril is just a 13/13 flying indestructible (shield of the oversoul) double striker with trample and enemy shroud... why don't you just get over it."

Its no surprise that this and Deus of Calamity make an insane combo. Otherwise, on any other creature, it can be quite expensive, but giving a creature double strike can be worth it and with the right mana acceleration it can enchant creatures sooner. But the problem with this card is the same for other enchantment auras; once you enchant your creature it becomes a target for the opponent. Also if you want creatures with double strike then Rage Reflection would be the better option; an enchantment that gives all your creature double strike, for only six mana.

The reason this is good with Deus of Calamity, is because it effectively will hit for 14, some of which will likely go over, and has a chance of destroying two lands a turn. That's not bad. The 28 damage being tossed against your opponent's face doesn't hurt either.

i don't see how this is insane on DoC, when it already has trample.
i like this on a creature with haste and wither.

This is the most evil card ever. I't meant to be played on a Rean and green creature. you all say ther are better wat to do thingd, but this card does 3 things. it gives +2/+2 Trample and Doublesrike. This card can win games when it's enchanted on the right creature

Effectivley, it gets trample during each combat phase since it has 2 with double strike, thats pretty decent. Limited number of creatures that can gain both, but it works nicely for naya. Play thoctar, enchant thoctar with runes of the deus, thoctar is now 7/7 with trample and double strike. Not to shabby.
On the side though, deus already has trample.. so the double strike is the only thing worth mentioning if you want to enchant the same card with it. Not really sure why wizards made that choice, I guess because green creatures really need trample in general.

All I can say is it's a good thing there are no creatures that are both red and green AND have infect. It's almost worth giving something infect with a second card just so you can drop this on it...
