@ EnV you are right about the Nettle Sentinel and this not working, but Coat of Arms and an Devoted Druid plus this does work, as the +1/+1 to the creatures stats do counter act the -1/-1 counters...

on a second note midnight guard and this is definitely another combo, all in pauper too.
