Almost strictly worse than Archaeological Dig, which is in turn almost strictly worse than Tendo Ice Bridge-- After you use it once, your opponent can, if they choose, just hold onto it, in which case it's as bad as sacrificed. Or, of course, you just got them one land closer to using their game-winning spell or combo, in which case it's worse than sacrificed. Giving your opponent choices is never a good thing.
But it gets a little extra from me for nostalgia. Back in the day, a friend of mine had this, and we thought it switched sides every turn, not just if it was used. So effectively, we'd each have it on our own turn, and never had a reason not to use it. And we also had a houserule that whenever you used something that said to add one mana of any color, if you were going to use it for generic mana, you had to choose a new color every time (this was before it was made official that the five colors were the only colors possible... Combos well with Exotic Orchard in a 5 color deck. Also works nicely with Land Tax.

I really want to get this card so I can use it in my Knight deck. The flavor text makes it fit so well. As has been mentioned it already works with Knight of the White Orchid. Might be able to make it not suck....

I always wanted to make this useful. Good for casting spells that include sacrificing or unsummoning a land as a cost. Or with Kudzu. Strictly better than Sorrow's Path, at least.

Knight of the White Orchid? I dunno. Just don't combo with Shivan Wumpus.
Edit:/ Zedruu, there I found a working combo. It's either drawing you cards or giving you mana. win/win

I think this might actually get useful Zedruu the Greathearted.
You have to activate it on your opponent's turn before he passes over to you in order to work so your use for this land's mana is restricted, but it'll still be easy card advantage nonetheless.

Woohoo first comment I'm so excited better make it a good one. I feel this is a highly under rated card of course the draw back sucks but you dont play this without have a way to avoid it. I like zuran orb and crucible of worlds use it sack it then you always have a land to play and any color you want when you need it. No mana no problem bring it out and use then sack it.

Strictly worse than Double Rainbow Vale.
And even by itself, I'd still call it strictly worse than City of Brass.
