I think "Ydwen" is an anagram of "Wendy." I'm not sure who Wendy is, but early Magic was fat with name references.
Also... yeah. He looks surprisingly playable along with a Rite of Flame or Desperate Ritual or something.

I would rather attack with this than with Mijae Djinn, a 3/6 is likely to kill most things in combat and live to tell about it. Don't see it is a 3/6 blocker for three but a 3/6 attacker for three, what an absolute bargain for mono red.

Pretty good. Especialy considering it is from one of the older editions.
If you don't like as a wall, don't use it like a wall. It becomes an offensive power house if you simply throw some power buffs on it or flip its power and toughness.
Not a bad card with darin Doran, the Siege Tower. Unfourtantly in the wrong colors though.

3/6 for 3. That's all there is to it.

Wtf, this is rated 3... this is a very powerful creature.
And instead of about face, try Inside Out if you like cantrips

A wall can't serve as resistant 3/6 attacker for 3 mana, you know...

Actually quite an amazing card. 3/6 for 3. Who cares if it can only block half the time. Use with About Face for a ball lightning that can swing later. 3 power for 3 mana is average. 6 toughness for 3 mana is well above average. Very flavorful too. Looks fun in Planechase.

Surprisingly playable and powerful for the cost; one of few coin-flipping cards that works just fine on its own.
