Just spent $35 on a playset of these idiots. Totally worth it.
This guy is insane! How was wizards stupid enough to print this??? The entire block was pretty op though...
Who cares about the drawback? It's like great red mages always say: if you're worrying about your life total, you're probably already dead. This is the same thing. An extra land for two damage a turn on a hasty goblin AND you get to look at your opponents next draw? This guy works wonders.
5/5 for sheer power.

I have a burn deck and I use this because it's really good.
But I have to say it is broken...
One drop, haste, 2/2... Completely unbalanced.
And the ability that was supposed to make him acceptable might actually help you.
Should never have been printed.

A 2/2 one drops should be handled very delicately. Their great, but very breakable.
B there should be no one drops with hast... (I mean really, a game should not be decided on the flip of the coin to figure out who goes first)
I guess either, by itself, would be acceptable. But both? No, this card is broken. No, shattered.
But anyway... The drawback is what's supposed to make this card balanced, it doesn't. At worst, it gives your opponent a few more lands. Something that, in aggro, won't matter that much. At best, it lets you see their next card.
Due to it being such a good card for aggro: *****, because it's so "good" that it manages to break down barriers that shouldn't have ever been touched.

I love this card, he reminds me of Arc-Slogger. How? He has a big drawback that makes him difficult to evaluate.
However, I play aggro a lot, and I can attest that this guy is awesome. He is one of the fastest one-drops in the game, and will quickly have your opponent in the single digits. The drawback matters little. Even if EVERY time they get a free land, they will be dead or at burn range before that card advantage you have given your opponent matters.
To be fair, Baneslayer Angel is really what I would worry about most. She is such a huge pain for RDW, and now with Kor Firewalker the archtype will have a hard time finding success. So now I can get them cheap for casual :P

underrated when you first look at him, but this is perfect for a red deck, one mana for a 2/2 with haste, first turn plop him down and swing.

I think it's silly that people call this card unbalanced. There are so many balance issues in Magic, this one doesn't even register. I can spend 7 mana to put out an amazing creature, and a guy with a blue deck can pay one mana to get rid of it. But Goblin Guide is unbalanced?
Honestly, Goblin Guide is exactly what Red needs to be balanced. Two damage on turn one, before the blue and white people can get their counterspells and Pascifisms out.
