Back when I was first getting into Magic, one of my buddies had this in his deck and, somehow, neither of us had noticed the "Sacrifice Scourglass" part of the activation cost.
Just let that sink in for a moment.

This card is really strong. I'm planning on using it in my Tajic EDH deck which uses lots of equipment to make him really scary. Board wipes like this will kill everything except my commander and all his equipment so it is perfect.
Soulscour may make it into the deck as well, but that card just costs so much mana.
