He can get exiled by white, but so can most any creature without protection from white.
Imo this is the superior mythic rare in Alara because of the regenerate, that is simply amazing on such a beast.

Despite cheap white removal like Path to Exile, Hellkite Overlord is definitely the best dragon in standard, capable of destroying the opponent without much resistence. Not to mention with mana acceleration like Rampant Growth, Birds of Paradise and Garruk Wildspeaker this guy can be in play as early as turn four or five. With insane abalities and amazing artwork and flavor text its difficult to imagine anyone who deosn't like this card.

Watching this and Godsire fight would be something to see, but as much as I love Godsire, I think the Overlord would unfortunately win, simply because Godsire doesn't have wings. But if Hellkite Overlord got anywhere near Godsire's mouth, he'd be pulp in no time.

My brother runs this card in a Jund deck. Getting hit by a big flying regenerating trampling firebreathing creature is like being punched in the head: it hurts, it's disorienting, and it's a knockout.

This card effectiveness has dropped with new cards like resounding silence and path the exile that dont destory cards. Its still a nice card and is safe from most removal. The haste and trample can make a win out of no where. But there are other much cheaper finishers that are even harder to kill. Still is a great card and im glad to have it in my deck.
