As a blue player, I hate this. Still its not like Alara had any good counterspells anyway (Spell Snip, Traumatic Visions, Cancel etc.) Well, there were a couple of good ones like Punish Ignorance, Countersquall, and Soul Manipulation.

the downside is that, given a few more years, even this card will be obsoleted by a 6/6 for four mana. alas.. but it keeps wotc in business and fools separated from their money so i suppose everyone's happy.

very good card, no real downside except gold, 4 mana for a 5/5 is never bad, I would run 2 in a deck as I want the full range of 5 power effects (trample, first strike, vigilance and indestructable) and will also need some mana accel for godsire

My solution to this, I love Black and I hate Green, so I use Doom Blade or Kalitas, Bloodchief of Ghet+Dark Ritual or Hideous End END OF STORY

Having {R}{R}{G}{G} would make more sense for the 5/5 multicolored, but that's the color green for you.

He has no downside. He's also way above the curve... Why isn't anyone playing this?
Sure, it can be destroyed by pinpoint removal, but so what? He's HUGE. The only thing this guy doesn't have in his favor is that it isn't automatic card advantage.
