If for nothing else, if you have Necromancer's Covenant out, then what you get is a pumpable creature with the potential to lifelink. That means alot of mana dump, and something that is always good in zombies: Life gain.

It's okay, but what am I looking at in the art?

Sick in the late game with Unearth dudes, especially if powered on by Crypt of Agadeem.

Yup. Best flavor text in the game.
That said I have no idea what's going on

Nice to have a late-game mana sink for my troubles. Keeps me from feeling so useless after I empty my hand on turn 5 or so.
It's nice on the hard-to-use Training Drone, as even if you don't have mana to spare on granting an actual boost, the little egg still feels good about holding something.

You call that breaking my spine? You red-black ladies wouldn't know how to break a spine if- *crack* AUUGH! MY SPINE!

Power Artifact would be fun on this. It would triple the efficiency of the equipment.

An ode to Firebreathing... more efficient in multi-color decks, obviously, and it's also nice that you don't lose it the same way you lose Firebreathing if the creature dies.

Colorless firebreathing, low equip cost, nice little card. Plays well with flying, first strike, unblockable, whatever.
