A Bomb in Limited. He fulfills his purpose. Dropping a 5/6 in Zen Limited is going to hurt your opponent.

This card sat in my hand for a whole match during the pre-release draft; suffice to say I might've won had it been another, worthwhile creature. I could never play it... and even if I could, it would still have been worse than, say, Baloth Woodcrasher.

Vastwood Gorger is a great all around creature, although it needs flying it sill good. Even Better than Craw Wurm!

Wurms truly suck. WHY did they have to bring a wurm to Zen? They simply cost a lot, never have any abilities, and are just big guys. Can't do much.

the flavor text of the M12 version just sounds pretty lame.. Like a teen trying to write a story for English class.. "Engulfing gulp"??? really??

I'm not amazed, but I wouldn't say it's a bad card. Wouldn't definitely use it outside of casual play, but it could be useful... You can Electropotence it, or use Rite of Replication on it. Let's say you pay 6 to play the big guy, and then you pay 8 on your next turn, you've got six green 5/6 wurms. Expensive, but G/U being all about landfall, you can easily achieve that with Oracle of Mul Daya.

Limited only. In constructed, green can do a lot better for 6 mana.

Sometimes in casual it's fun to make horrible dekcs out of all commons and uncommons.
In that situation, this guy stomps face.
for that reason: 5/5

In Drafts or casual decks, this card has more purpose than people may realize. It seems rather unimportant to your enemy, but play along side common green buffs, such as rancor, trollhide, and giant growth, and you've got yourself a rather nasty damage dealer.
