Oh, silly Jund. Burninating the countryside.

ok, off topic I know, but this just got me thinking....what would you get for XUBR? besides the most kickass mana symbol abbreviation in the game? at Mythic, how about Glimpse the Unthinkable with a Comet Storm rider? xD or maybe Thought Hemmorage spliced with Traumatize? how about Consume Spirit without the color drawback, + Mindspring, + Fireball? lmao be grateful they make the cards, not me. :p

@All of you saying this is a bomb card and don't understand its low rating
Yes, this card is a POWERHOUSE. See Bonfire of the Damned as a good example of this card's potential. The problem with it though is actually it's colors. Because it's in Jund, you are auto including Bloodbraid Elf into your deck in 4. There is NOTHING worse to cascade into than an X spell because X has to be 0. So with the elf, you get nothing if you cascade into this and you just lost one of your most powerful spells. Things like Blightning were just so much better for that deck because it ensured that your opponent wouldn't have the spells to play and would take direct damage.
So if you're asking yourself why this card isn't more popular, put all the blame on Bloodbraid Elf. As an Esper player, that's what I do... that card is too OP.

I was at my buddies house out of town with my younger brother last week, and I had convinced my brother to play Magic for the first time (he always made fun of me for it by the way), and we were all playing and I think he felt left out, so he said he'd play. So I let him play my Jund deck. Half way through the game he shows me this card and asks me what he should do with it. I'm a fair player so I told him how it worked and that he could kill 4 of my creatures or all of my buddies. Instantly he said he wanted to use it on my buddy so he could wipe out all of his creatures and knock him for a bunch of life. I swear ever since that moment he was hooked. We've played every day since then and now I finally have someone to play with! YES!

Think of it as a fireball, except instead of dividing the damage and paying extra for every additional target, it costs more and hits everything you would have wanted to in the first place.

I find it amusing when people look at a card like this and say "only good in Jund or 5 color" no... freakin'... duh.

Good card, but its true potential is released only if the correct mana acceleration is utilized.

This card doesn't cost to much -at all-, look at the affect.. its a one sided earthquake that affects flyers, and its not divided like rolling thunder. Also what does this do that should strike everyone immediately.. Ma.ssive token removal! Kaboom kithkins, goblins, and bitterblossoms, and saprolings. Its a one sided day of judgement, that also hurts your opponent. If you only play it to wipe out a myriad of 1/1's its only 4 mana. Then 5 for 2/2's and so on. Thats not an overcosted card thats a board wiping card that you can use any time between mid and late game to clear way for a big creature.

This card is built for limited.
Biggest bomb rare in the set.
